4 Family Members Killed In Dumper Truck Crash On Barabanki-Bahraich Highway
Four family members died, while a seven-year-old girl survived injured.
Four members of a family were killed and a seven-year-old girl was injured after a speeding dumper truck collided with their car on the Barabanki-Bahraich highway, police said on Wednesday. The accident occurred on Tuesday near Bindoura village as the family was travelling from Shravasti to Lucknow.
The deceased were identified as 60-year-old Maulana Sharif, his 55-year-old wife Tabassum Bano, their 29-year-old son Mohammed Uzaim and 17-year-old daughter Rushda Khatoon. Sharif's seven-year-old daughter, Huda, survived the collision but sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at a district hospital.
Following the crash, local residents and passers-by rushed to the damaged vehicle and helped remove all five occupants from the wreckage. They were taken to the Bada Gaon community health centre for medical attention. Doctors at the facility declared Sharif, Tabassum, Uzaim and Rushda dead.

According to Barabanki Superintendent of Police Arpit Vijayvargiya, the accident occurred after the car suddenly took a U-turn on the highway. The manoeuvre brought the vehicle into the path of the dumper truck, resulting in the collision. Police are assessing the circumstances surrounding the crash and the sequence of events leading up to it.
The deaths have left the family devastated, while the injured child remains under medical care. The incident also highlights the risks associated with sudden manoeuvres on busy highways, particularly where heavy commercial vehicles are travelling at speed.
Police officials are continuing to gather information about the accident and the vehicles involved. Further details regarding the investigation and any action against those responsible are expected as authorities establish the circumstances that led to the fatal collision.
