4-Day Bank Holiday Alert: SBI, HDFC, ICICI Branches To Remain Shut

State-wise bank holiday list for next week.

Banks across India, including major public and private sector lenders such as State Bank of India (SBI), HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank, will remain closed for up to four days during the week from July 13 to July 19, 2026. The closures are linked to regional festivals, local observances and the regular weekly holiday, with the dates varying from state to state according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar.

Bank branches will remain shut on specific days in states observing regional holidays, while digital services such as internet banking, UPI payments, mobile banking and ATM facilities are expected to continue functioning normally. However, customers may not be able to access branch-based services such as cash deposits, cheque processing and other in-person banking activities on these notified holidays.

According to the holiday schedule, banks in Uttarakhand, Manipur and Odisha will remain closed on July 16 due to regional celebrations, including Harela, Kang (Rathajatra) and Ratha Yatra. Banks in Meghalaya will observe a holiday on July 17 to mark the death anniversary of U Tirot Singh, while banking operations in Sikkim will remain closed on July 18 for Drukpa Tshe-zi, a significant Buddhist festival.

July 18 falls on the third Saturday of the month, which is normally a working day for banks as per RBI rules. Banks are generally closed only on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. However, Sikkim branches will observe a holiday on that date due to the regional festival. On July 19, all banks across the country will remain closed because of the regular Sunday holiday.

Banks are expected to operate normally across most parts of the country on July 13, 14 and 15. Customers who require branch services are advised to complete important transactions in advance and verify local holiday schedules before visiting their bank branches. Additional bank holidays are also scheduled later in July 2026. Banks in Tripura will remain closed on July 22 for Kharchi Puja, while July 25 will be a nationwide bank holiday due to the fourth Saturday. All banks will also remain closed on July 26 because of the weekly Sunday holiday.
