30 Vibrant Tableaux Set for Republic Day 2026 with Vande Mataram Focus
30 tableaux to feature 'Vande Mataram' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' themes in 2026 Republic Day parade.
The Republic Day Parade 2026 promises to be a grand spectacle as 30 tableaux roll down Kartavya Path on January 26, highlighting India’s journey of freedom, prosperity, and cultural richness. This year’s celebrations are themed “‘Svatantrata Ka Mantr – Vande Mataram’ and ‘Samrddhi Ka Mantr – Aatmanirbhar Bharat’,” marking 150 years of the national song “Vande Mataram.”
Of the 30 tableaux, 17 will be presented by states and Union Territories while 13 will come from central ministries and departments. Each tableau will celebrate India’s unique heritage, developmental achievements, and regional identities. Assam will feature the craft village of Ashirakandi, Maharashtra will showcase Ganeshotsav as a symbol of Atmanirbharta, and West Bengal will highlight its role in India’s freedom struggle.
Several states are blending tradition with innovation. Odisha’s “Soil to Silicon” tableau will depict growth rooted in heritage, Tamil Nadu will showcase India’s electric vehicle manufacturing capabilities, and Kerala will present its Water Metro and 100% digital governance initiatives. Nagaland will display the Hornbill Festival to highlight tourism, culture, and self-reliance.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs will offer a floral tableau commemorating 150 years of “Vande Mataram.”
Cultural performances by around 2,500 artists will complement the tableaux, ensuring a visually stunning celebration of India’s heritage, unity, and progress. The event will also welcome European dignitaries as Chief Guests, including President of the European Council Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, adding an international dimension to the festivities.
The Republic Day Parade 2026 will thus not only honor India’s historical and cultural legacy but also spotlight the nation’s achievements in innovation, self-reliance, and governance, making it a truly spectacular celebration of a Viksit Bharat.
