3 Workers Killed in Delhi Building Collapse
Tragic collapse in Daryaganj sparks urgent rescue efforts.
A building collapse in central Delhi’s Daryaganj claimed the lives of three workers leaving authorities scrambling to investigate the cause. The three-storey structure near Sadbhavna Park caved in abruptly at 12:14 pm during ongoing construction, trapping workers under a pile of debris, according to Delhi Police.
The victims, identified as Zubair, Gulsagar, and Taufiq, were rushed to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital but were declared dead on arrival. A Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official reported that the building collapsed suddenly amid construction activities, prompting an immediate response from four fire tenders, police, and rescue teams. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) joined efforts, deploying heavy machinery to clear rubble and search for survivors.
“Three persons were rescued from the debris, but sadly, they didn’t survive,” a DFS official said. “Rescue operations are ongoing to ensure no one else is trapped.” Preliminary reports suggest construction work may have contributed to the collapse, though the exact cause remains under investigation. Police have promised legal action once facts are verified.
