Watch Us in 100 Days!! Parvesh Verma Promises Civic Overhaul in Delhi
Delhi’s Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Parvesh Verma vowed on Monday that the BJP government would deliver a “real change” within 100 days.
Delhi’s Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Parvesh Verma vowed on Monday that the BJP government would deliver a “real change” within 100 days, tackling long-pending civic issues like road repairs, sewer cleaning, flood control, and illegal encroachments. Launching an ambitious initiative, Verma directed officials from PWD, Delhi Jal Board, and Irrigation and Flood Control to act on a “war footing,” slamming years of stalled progress under previous regimes for lack of intent.
“For years, work in Delhi stalled due to no will to act. The BJP is here to deliver, not just promise,” Verma declared in a statement after a meeting with MLAs and department heads. He stressed that the worsening state of civic infrastructure—potholed roads, clogged sewers, and waterlogged streets—demands urgent action. “In the next 100 days, Delhiites will see visible change,” he assured, pledging to prioritize development and resolve constituency-specific woes.
The meeting, attended by MLAs from areas like Trilokpuri, Mundka, and Kirari, alongside zone-specific officials, outlined concrete steps: repairing roads and drains, managing flooding, clearing encroachments, and fast-tracking delayed projects. “Every MLA-raised issue is now on our urgent action list,” Verma said. The initiative follows the BJP’s December 2024 Assembly poll win, ending a decade of AAP rule criticized for civic neglect.
Verma’s bold timeline aligns with CM Atishi’s recent sanitation drive, but his emphasis on execution over rhetoric sets a high bar. Posts on X from Delhi residents reflect cautious optimism, with some hailing the intent while others demand proof in action. As the clock ticks, Verma’s 100-day pledge positions the BJP to reshape Delhi’s urban landscape—or face scrutiny if promises falter.
