NIA Investigates Five Juveniles In Ghaziabad Espionage Case Linked To Pakistan
NIA has filed an investigation report against five juveniles in a Pakistan-linked espionage case in Ghaziabad.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday submitted its investigation report against five juveniles in connection with a Pakistan-linked espionage and terror conspiracy case in Ghaziabad, marking a significant development in a probe involving alleged surveillance of sensitive Indian installations. The report was filed before the Juvenile Justice Board, with authorities invoking provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Official Secrets Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
According to the agency, the case involves a wider network accused of installing solar-powered spy cameras at sensitive railway and strategic locations and allegedly providing live access to the footage to suspected operatives based in Pakistan. The NIA said the juveniles were part of a coordinated effort to collect and transmit sensitive information that could pose a threat to India’s national security.
Investigators further alleged that the minors conspired with other accused individuals to gather photographs, videos, and precise GPS coordinates of restricted areas. The agency claims this information was shared with Pakistan-based handlers as part of a broader espionage module aimed at compromising critical infrastructure and security installations.

The probe also revealed that the juveniles were allegedly involved in illegal access to prohibited zones and assisted in the installation of surveillance equipment. In addition, they are accused of facilitating the transfer of sensitive digital material, including geo-tagged images and videos, and helping operatives obtain Indian SIM cards for communication linked to suspected terror activities.
The NIA stated that the overall investigation in the case, which has already led to multiple arrests, remains ongoing. Earlier police action in the matter had resulted in several detentions linked to what authorities describe as a large espionage network, with further inquiries continuing into the roles of additional suspects and the broader operational structure of the module.
