World Leaders Light Up Diwali 2025 with Heartfelt Wishes for India’s Festival of Lights

As India celebrates Diwali, the festival of lights, leaders and representatives from across the globe have extended heartfelt greetings, amplifying the spirit of unity and hope. From the United Arab Emirates to Australia, Singapore, Israel, Iran, and the United Nations, these messages highlight Diwali’s universal message of light triumphing over darkness and foster stronger cultural and diplomatic ties.

Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese shared a warm video message on X, wishing Indians a vibrant celebration. “As people around the world observe the festival of light, may this special time uplift you with hope for a bright future. It will be a wonderful celebration,” he said, emphasizing the festival’s global resonance. Similarly, Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong conveyed his greetings through a creative video post, stating, “Light over darkness. Hope over fear. As we count down to Deepavali, we celebrate not just the lights that fill our homes, but the meaning they carry in our hearts.”

In the UAE, home to a significant Indian diaspora, Dubai’s Ruler and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum extended his greetings on X: “Warmest wishes to those celebrating Diwali in the UAE and around the world. May this festival of lights bring peace, safety, and prosperity to you and your loved ones.” Israel’s spokesperson Guy Nir also joined in, noting, “As millions of Indians light their diyas to celebrate the victory of light over darkness, Israel extends its warm wishes for peace, renewal, and hope.”

Iran’s Embassy in India expressed solidarity, posting on X: “We extend our warmest greetings and best wishes to the people and Government of India on the joyous occasion of Diwali. May this festival of lights bring peace, prosperity, and happiness and strengthen the bonds of friendship between our two nations.” The United Nations also added its voice, sending warm wishes that underscore Diwali’s significance as a celebration of cultural unity and sustainable development. These global tributes, shared on October 20, 2025, reflect Diwali’s power to unite diverse nations in a shared celebration of light, hope, and goodwill.
