William and Kate to Move into £16M 'Forever Home' Near Windsor

Prince William and Kate Middleton to move into £16M Forest Lodge, calling it their forever home.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, are set to relocate to a grand new residence—an eight-bedroom estate named Forest Lodge—on King Charles III’s Windsor Castle grounds in Berkshire, Kensington Palace confirmed on Saturday.

Touted as their “forever home,” the royal couple plans to move in later this year with their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The home will continue to serve as their residence even after Prince William ascends to the throne, according to a report in The Sun.

The couple is reportedly paying for the property's minor renovations and rent from personal funds, without using taxpayer money. Located near their current residence, Adelaide Cottage, Forest Lodge offers the space and privacy the family seeks as their children continue attending the nearby Lambrook School.

“This move marks a fresh start for the Wales family,” a royal source told The Sun, citing recent challenges, including Kate’s public battle with cancer, as reasons for the change. “They see it as their forever home.”

Forest Lodge, valued at around £16 million on the open market, last appeared on the rental market in 2001 for £15,000 per month. Planning documents filed in June indicate only modest renovations, including new doors, windows, ceilings, and flooring—without any demolition or major structural changes.

The Grade II-listed residence boasts historic architecture, including red Flemish bond brickwork, a slate roof, six chimneys, nine bay windows, a central drawing room, and an original cellar.
