Were Begging For Our Lives: Eyewitness Recounts Horror on Jaffar Express in Pakistan

An eyewitness on the train shared a gripping account of the chaos, painting a vivid picture of the terror that gripped the train.

A horrifying terrorist attack unfolded on Tuesday in Pakistan’s Balochistan province when militants from the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) hijacked the Jaffar Express in Kacchi district, derailing the train and taking over 100 passengers hostage.

An eyewitness shared a gripping account of the chaos, painting a vivid picture of the terror that gripped the train.

“We were shouting, and some just laid down. I did the same; everyone lay down to save their lives,” the passenger recalled, describing the desperate scramble for safety as the situation spiraled into a nightmare.

“There were blasts, and we were begging for our lives,” he added, his voice echoing the fear that engulfed the train. Amid the violence, the attackers eventually allowed some to flee, with a stern warning: “They told us not to turn back. My wife and a few others escaped.”

The ambush in Kacchi, a volatile region plagued by insurgency, saw armed militants force the train off its tracks before seizing control. Pakistani security forces swiftly launched a large-scale operation to neutralize the threat and rescue the hostages.

Intense gunfire erupted as the terrorists reportedly split into smaller groups to evade capture. Sources indicate that at least 16 militants were killed, though concerns linger over the safety of remaining hostages. While most passengers were freed, casualties are feared, with details still emerging.
