VHP Bajrang Dal Protesters Detained Outside Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi
VHP and Bajrang Dal activists protest in Delhi over lynching of Hindu man Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh.
Protests against alleged communal violence in Bangladesh have spilled over into India, with demonstrations reported in New Delhi, Jammu, and parts of Telangana. Activists from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal gathered near the Bangladesh High Commission in the national capital, demanding justice and stronger action over the incident that has triggered widespread outrage.
In New Delhi, protestors attempted to move toward the Bangladesh High Commission, leading to swift intervention by Delhi Police. Multiple layers of barricades were set up, and additional police and paramilitary forces were deployed to prevent any breach of security. Several protestors were detained as authorities worked to maintain law and order in the sensitive diplomatic zone.
The protests were sparked by the killing of a Hindu man in Bangladesh, which has been cited by activists as an example of rising communal intolerance. According to official accounts from Bangladesh Police, the victim, a young garment factory worker, was attacked by a mob in the Mymensingh region following allegations of blasphemy. The incident occurred on December 18, 2025, and has since drawn international attention.

Demonstrators carried placards and raised slogans condemning the violence and urging accountability. Some banners demanded justice for the victim and called on both governments to ensure the protection of minority communities. The protests remained tense but largely controlled due to the heavy security presence.
Similar demonstrations were also reported in Jammu and Telangana, indicating the growing scale of public anger. Leaders from Hindu organisations stated that the protests were meant to draw attention to the situation in Bangladesh and press for diplomatic intervention to safeguard minority rights.
Meanwhile, authorities in India have appealed for calm, emphasizing that diplomatic channels are being closely monitored. As unrest continues to simmer on both sides of the border, the developments are being watched carefully for their potential impact on regional stability and India-Bangladesh relations.
