Uttarakhand Government Raises DA For Employees, Approves ₹50 Crore Projects

Uttarakhand hikes DA, approves ₹50 crore development projects.

The Uttarakhand government has announced a revision in the dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees and pensioners, increasing it from 58% to 60% with effect from January 1, 2026. The decision, officials said, aligns with the recent revision implemented by the Central government and is expected to benefit thousands of employees and retirees across the state.

The announcement was made following approval by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who cleared the proposal as part of the government’s broader administrative and fiscal decisions. The revision in DA is aimed at providing relief to employees and pensioners amid rising living costs, ensuring parity with central pay structure adjustments.

In addition to the DA hike, the Chief Minister also approved development and infrastructure projects worth approximately ₹50 crore across various districts of Uttarakhand. These approvals include key housing and public infrastructure works intended to strengthen administrative facilities and improve essential services.

Another major approval includes the construction of residential units at the Haldwani fire station in Nainital district. The project comprises 64 Type-II, eight Type-III, and four Type-IV quarters, with a sanctioned cost of ₹36.64 crore. Officials stated that the development will enhance housing infrastructure for emergency service personnel posted in the area.

Separately, ₹3.47 crore has been approved for constructing six Type-II and one Type-III residential units at Reetha Sahib police station in Champawat district. The government said these infrastructure upgrades are part of its ongoing effort to strengthen policing and public service infrastructure across Uttarakhand.
