US Delegation Meets Pakistan’s Munir As Trump Administration Pushes Closer Bilateral Relations

Two United States lawmakers met Pakistan Army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi as Islamabad and Washington continue efforts to strengthen bilateral relations amid renewed diplomatic engagement under US President Donald Trump’s administration. Republican members of the US House of Representatives Ryan Zinke of Montana and Michael Baumgartner of Washington held discussions with Field Marshal Munir during their visit on Monday. Pakistan’s military media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), confirmed the meeting in an official statement.

According to the ISPR, the discussions covered a range of issues, including matters of mutual interest, regional security challenges, defence cooperation between the two countries and possible avenues for expanding economic collaboration.
