UNICEF Reports Child Toll In Gaza During Ceasefire Period
UNICEF highlights Gaza children's humanitarian crisis.
At least 300 children have been killed in Gaza in the 300 days since the October 2025 ceasefire, according to UNICEF, which warned that the humanitarian crisis affecting children in the region continues to worsen. The UN children’s agency said the figure represents an average of one child killed every day during the period following the ceasefire.
UNICEF Middle East and North Africa Regional Director Edouard Beigbeder said the ongoing situation is failing children and highlighted the severe impact of the crisis on young lives. The agency stressed that children remain among the most vulnerable groups amid continued instability and deteriorating humanitarian conditions.
UNICEF said children across Gaza are still living in unsafe and unhygienic shelters while facing serious challenges, including acute malnutrition and the spread of diseases. The organisation noted that limited access to essential services and humanitarian support has increased risks for children and families affected by the conflict.

The agency reiterated its call for stronger protection of civilians and urged continued delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need. UNICEF emphasised that children affected by conflict require immediate support, including access to healthcare, nutrition, clean water and safe living conditions.
The latest statement adds to concerns raised by international organisations over the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Aid agencies have repeatedly warned that prolonged conflict and displacement have created severe challenges for civilians, particularly children who remain highly exposed to the consequences of violence and shortages of essential resources.
UNICEF said continued efforts are needed to ensure children receive protection and assistance. The agency called for measures focused on safeguarding civilian lives and addressing the growing humanitarian needs of families across Gaza.
