UAE Intercepts and Destroys New Wave of Iranian Missiles, Reaffirms Commitment to National Security
UAE intercepts Iranian missiles, safeguards civilians, and maintains security amid rising regional tensions.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) confirmed on Saturday that its air defence systems successfully intercepted and destroyed a new wave of Iranian missiles launched toward the country. The Ministry of Defence stated that the operation was carried out with high efficiency and without causing widespread damage, although debris from the intercepted missiles fell across several areas of Abu Dhabi, including Saadiyat Island, Khalifa City, Baniyas, Mohammed Bin Zayed, and Al Falah.
The ministry reported that the missile debris caused some material damage in residential areas and led to the death of an individual of Asian nationality. Authorities emphasized that the security situation in the country remains under control, with emergency and defence personnel monitoring developments around the clock. The ministry stressed that the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors remains an “utmost priority that cannot be compromised.”
In an official statement, the UAE condemned the attacks as a “blatant violation of national sovereignty and international law” and affirmed its full right to take all necessary measures to protect its territory, population, and critical infrastructure. The ministry urged the public to rely on verified official sources and avoid spreading unconfirmed reports or rumours.

The UAE Defence Ministry described the strikes as a “brazen attack” using Iranian ballistic missiles and highlighted the country’s readiness to counter any threats to national security. Officials emphasized that civilian facilities, national institutions, and installations must not be targeted, calling such acts a “dangerous escalation” that undermines regional stability and threatens public safety.
The statement reiterated that the UAE remains on high alert and prepared to respond decisively to any future escalation. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty, security, and stability while taking all necessary measures to protect people, national interests, and critical capabilities.
These developments come amid rising tensions in the Gulf region, where missile exchanges between Iran and neighboring countries have intensified. The UAE’s successful interception of the attacks underscores the country’s advanced air defence capabilities and highlights the heightened security risks faced by civilian populations in the region.
