Tyler Robinson Shows Visible Discomfort During Lance Twiggs Mention In Hearing

Tyler Robinson appeared uneasy during court hearing.

Tyler Robinson appeared visibly uneasy during portions of a court hearing in Provo, Utah, particularly when references were made to Lance Twiggs, his roommate and romantic partner, according to Fox News Digital reporter Michael Ruiz. The observations came during a week-long evidentiary hearing in a case involving the alleged murder of Charlie Kirk, where prosecutors are presenting evidence to determine whether the case should proceed to trial. Posting updates from the courtroom on X, Ruiz said Robinson displayed signs of discomfort whenever Twiggs was mentioned.

“Tyler Robinson appeared visibly uneasy today at times during the hearing, especially during mentions of Lance Twiggs, taking deep breaths, fidgeting and adjusting his suit jacket,” Ruiz wrote. He added that the court was not shown the full video of Twiggs’ police interview and that only a redacted version was expected to be presented during the following day’s proceedings. The hearing, which functions similarly to a mini-trial, allows prosecutors to present the evidence they intend to rely on if the case proceeds. Unlike a full criminal trial, evidentiary hearings permit the introduction of certain forms of hearsay and other preliminary evidence as the court evaluates whether sufficient grounds exist to move forward.

According to prosecutors, the evidence includes DNA analysis allegedly linking Robinson to the suspected murder weapon, testimony from investigators, autopsy findings, witness statements and surveillance footage related to Charlie Kirk’s death. The prosecution is expected to outline its case in detail before the court decides whether the matter should advance to trial. Ruiz also described emotional scenes involving Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, who attended the proceedings alongside other members of the victim’s family.

He reported that she shared several emotional embraces with her mother-in-law and became tearful during arguments over the release of video evidence. According to Ruiz, the family's attorney, Jeff Neiman, urged the court to allow the unredacted version of Lance Twiggs’ police interview to be shown publicly. The attorney argued that the complete recording should be made available “for all the world to see,” though the court has yet to determine whether the full footage will be released. The hearing is expected to continue with additional witness testimony and the presentation of further evidence, including the redacted interview video.

Court proceedings at this stage are focused on determining whether prosecutors have established probable cause for the case to proceed rather than deciding Robinson’s guilt or innocence. Robinson has not been convicted of any offence, and the allegations against him remain subject to judicial proceedings. Under the US legal system, he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. The outcome of the current hearing will determine the next stage of the criminal case.
