Two Killed As DTC Bus Rams Several Vehicles In Delhi; Angry Locals set Buses on Fire
A DTC bus crashed into several vehicles in Delhi, killing two people and triggering violence at the accident site.
Two people were killed after a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus rammed into multiple vehicles in the Nangloi area of outer Delhi, triggering violent protests by local residents who later vandalised and set buses on fire. The incident occurred on Monday morning on the busy Najafgarh–Nangloi Road, according to police officials.
Preliminary reports indicate that the bus, travelling from the Najafgarh side, lost control and hit several vehicles, including a scooter, a motorcycle, and an e-rickshaw, before striking pedestrians on the roadside. Two people died in the crash, while others sustained injuries and were rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The accident quickly sparked anger among locals, with hundreds gathering at the site to protest the deaths. During the unrest, the crowd damaged the bus involved in the accident and set another DTC bus on fire, while several nearby vehicles were vandalised. Videos circulating on social media showed a bus engulfed in flames as police sirens sounded in the background.
