Trump Says “No Israel Without Me,” Urges Netanyahu To Show Restraint Over Lebanon
Trump urges Netanyahu to act responsibly amid Lebanon tensions and Iran talks.
US President Donald Trump has cautioned Israel over its approach toward Lebanon, stating that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should act more “responsibly” amid rising regional tensions. Speaking on the sidelines of the G7 leaders’ summit in Évian-les-Bains, Trump also asserted his influence over Israel, remarking that “there is no Israel without me,” a statement that underscored his strong political positioning during ongoing Middle East negotiations.
Trump’s comments came after his meeting with Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, where discussions reportedly focused on ongoing diplomatic efforts to address the Iran nuclear issue. The US President described the talks as “very serious” and suggested that progress was being made toward a potential agreement. He credited the Qatari leadership with playing a constructive role in facilitating dialogue and encouraging a peaceful resolution to avoid further escalation in the region.
According to Trump, the Emir of Qatar has been instrumental in pushing forward negotiations with Iran, with Washington reportedly considering diplomatic pathways rather than military escalation. He added that Qatar has worked to prevent a more confrontational approach and has encouraged continued engagement with Tehran. Trump suggested that Iran should acknowledge Doha’s efforts in supporting a peaceful outcome.

The remarks come at a time of heightened international concern over tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border, where sporadic exchanges and military activity have raised fears of a broader regional conflict. Trump’s statement urging restraint from Israel highlights ongoing efforts by global powers to prevent further escalation while diplomatic channels remain active across multiple fronts, including Lebanon and Iran.
Separately, Iran has warned that any Israeli military action against Lebanon or continued territorial disputes would violate existing interim understandings involving the United States. These developments underscore the fragile balance of diplomacy in the region, as Washington attempts to manage its support for Israel while simultaneously pushing for de-escalation and renewed negotiations with Iran.
