Trump Says Iran's Missiles Being Wiped Out, Leadership Falling on Day Five of War
Trump boasts of strong war gains as US-Israel campaign against Iran intensifies rapidly.
Donald Trump on Wednesday claimed that the United States was performing exceptionally well in its ongoing war against Iran, rating the country’s military performance as “15 out of 10.” Speaking during a meeting with technology industry executives at the White House, Trump said American forces were in a “very strong position” as the conflict entered its fifth day. The remarks came amid escalating hostilities across the Middle East and continued military operations carried out jointly by the United States and Israel.
According to reports, the conflict has intensified significantly in recent days, with a US submarine sinking an Iranian warship off the coast of Sri Lanka while explosions were reported in several parts of the Middle East. The developments mark a widening of the conflict beyond its initial flashpoints and underscore the rapidly evolving military situation. Analysts say the involvement of multiple regions and the use of naval assets highlight the growing scale of the confrontation between Washington and Tehran.
During his remarks, Trump claimed that Iranian leadership figures were being eliminated rapidly as the conflict progressed. “We’re doing well on the war front, to put it mildly,” he said while describing the US military’s operations. He added that Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities were being destroyed at a fast pace, arguing that the ongoing campaign was significantly weakening Tehran’s ability to respond militarily.

Trump again defended the decision to launch military strikes against Iran, stating that Washington believed Tehran was moving closer to developing nuclear weapons. He argued that allowing such weapons to fall into the hands of what he described as “dangerous actors” would pose a serious global threat. The US administration has repeatedly maintained that the strikes are part of a broader strategy aimed at preventing Iran from achieving nuclear weapons capability.
The joint US-Israeli campaign reportedly began with large-scale air strikes that resulted in the death of Ali Khamenei during the opening phase of the conflict. The operation has since continued with coordinated attacks on Iranian military infrastructure, missile systems, and strategic assets. However, Trump has not clearly outlined Washington’s long-term political objectives in Iran following the military campaign.
The White House said Iran’s ruling establishment was “paying in blood,” while declining to confirm whether the US was actively seeking regime change in Tehran. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the administration was still evaluating possible political scenarios for Iran after the conflict ends. She also rejected reports that the United States had agreed to arm Kurdish separatist groups inside Iran, although she confirmed that Trump had spoken with Kurdish leaders while consulting his national security team about potential next steps.
