Trump Says Iran Peace Deal Removes Israel’s Biggest Risk, in Meeting With Netanyahu
Trump says Iran peace deal reduces Israel biggest risk
United States President Donald Trump has said that a newly signed peace agreement between Washington and Tehran significantly reduces what he described as Israel’s “biggest risk,” claiming the deal strengthens regional security by limiting the possibility of a nuclear threat from Iran. The remarks were made during a press interaction in Evian-les-Bains, France, on the sidelines of the G7 Summit, where Trump spoke about the diplomatic developments following the agreement and his discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu prior to its signing.
According to Trump, he personally conveyed to Netanyahu that the agreement would serve Israel’s core security interests by addressing long-standing concerns over Iran’s nuclear capabilities. He suggested that the deal effectively removes the possibility of a nuclear strike, framing it as a major strategic gain for Israel in the regional balance of power. “Think of what Israel is getting. They’re not going to be nuked,” Trump told reporters, while describing the agreement as a decisive step in reducing existential threats. He added that he had told Netanyahu that Israel was receiving “the most important thing” it had sought in discussions related to regional security guarantees.
Trump further revealed details of his conversation with Netanyahu ahead of the signing ceremony, stating that he had urged the Israeli leader to consider the broader implications of the agreement. “Think of it, Bibi. You got the best,” he said, characterising the deal as overwhelmingly favourable from Israel’s security perspective. The comments come amid ongoing geopolitical sensitivities in West Asia, where diplomatic efforts have focused on preventing escalation and stabilising relations between regional powers.

The agreement between Washington and Tehran is being positioned by the US administration as part of a broader attempt to reduce conflict risks and strengthen deterrence frameworks. While Trump framed the deal as a breakthrough for regional stability, it is expected to draw varied responses from stakeholders across the Middle East, given the long-standing tensions surrounding Iran’s nuclear programme and Israel’s security concerns. Further official reactions from regional governments are anticipated as the implications of the agreement are assessed.
