Trump Demands Continuation of Iran Talks in Netanyahu White House Meeting

US President Donald Trump said he urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to allow ongoing nuclear negotiations with Iran to continue during a meeting at the White House on Wednesday. The leaders held discussions for approximately three hours amid heightened regional tensions and renewed diplomatic efforts concerning Tehran’s nuclear programme.

Following the meeting, Trump said no final agreement had been reached but emphasised his position on maintaining dialogue. “There was nothing definitive reached other than I insisted that negotiations with Iran continue to see whether or not a deal can be consummated,” Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.

The statement underscores Washington’s focus on diplomacy even as concerns persist over Iran’s nuclear ambitions and regional activities. Talks aimed at limiting Iran’s nuclear programme have faced repeated setbacks in recent years, with disagreements over sanctions relief, uranium enrichment levels, and verification mechanisms complicating progress.
