Trump Declares Peace and Tells Netanyahu You're Not at War Anymore

Trump urges Netanyahu to embrace peace after landmark ceasefire deal.

In a dramatic address to the Israeli Knesset on Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump declared the end of hostilities between Israel and Hamas, urging Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to "be nicer now" following a historic U.S.-brokered ceasefire deal and prisoner exchange. “Peace is no longer just a hope... it is a reality. Israel, with US help, has won,” Trump stated, praising both nations for reaching an agreement that he claimed “effectively ends the war and opens the door to durable peace” in West Asia.

Trump's visit to Israel comes just hours after Hamas released 20 hostages — captured during the October 7, 2023 attacks — in two batches. The releases were coordinated with the Red Cross and paired with Israel’s release of Palestinian prisoners from a West Bank facility.

Celebrating the developments, Trump labeled the moment as the "historic dawn of a new Middle East" and declared it a turning point for regional peace. "This is the golden age for Israel, just like the USA right now," he said, drawing a standing ovation from Israeli lawmakers.

The ceasefire ends years of escalating conflict and follows months of diplomacy, during which Trump frequently engaged with Netanyahu, including during tense moments of Israel’s previous conflict with Iran.Trump's remarks signal a renewed push for long-term peace in the region, with both U.S. and Israeli leaders framing the moment as a transformative milestone.
