Trump Confirms He Criticized Netanyahu In Call Over Iran Peace Talks

Trump confirms tense call with Netanyahu over Iran talks.

US President Donald Trump has confirmed that he used strong language, including calling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “crazy,” during a recent phone call, amid growing tensions over the ongoing conflict involving Israel, Hezbollah, and Iran-linked hostilities in the region. The remarks were made in an interview released on Wednesday, where Trump also acknowledged frustration over Israel’s military actions complicating diplomatic efforts.

Donald Trump said he was “a little bit perturbed” that Israel’s military operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon were slowing down efforts to advance peace talks involving Iran. Despite the tense exchange, he stressed that his personal relationship with Netanyahu remained strong, describing both leaders as “wartime” figures who work effectively together.

Trump reiterated that while disagreements exist, cooperation between him and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues. He said the two leaders maintain a functional working relationship even during periods of heightened military escalation, underscoring the complexity of diplomatic coordination during active conflicts in the region.

The interview also highlighted Trump’s broader comments on the regional war dynamics, including uncertainty over how long key maritime routes such as the Strait of Hormuz could remain disrupted. He suggested that while prolonged closure was possible, he believed the situation would likely stabilize sooner rather than later as diplomatic pressure continues to build.

Meanwhile, military tensions in the region have continued to escalate. Israeli strikes were reported in southern Lebanon, including an attack near a highway south of Beirut. The ongoing exchanges between Israel and Hezbollah have intensified concerns about wider regional instability, even as US-brokered negotiations involving Lebanon and Israel continue in Washington.

The conflict has already resulted in heavy casualties and mass displacement, with thousands killed and over a million people forced to flee their homes in Lebanon. As diplomatic talks proceed alongside continued military operations, the situation remains highly volatile, with no clear timeline for a comprehensive ceasefire or long-term settlement.
