Tragic Fire at Solapur Factory Claims Eight Lives, Including Child and Owner

A devastating fire at Central Textile Mills in Maharashtra’s Solapur district killed eight people, including three women and a one-and-a-half-year-old child, on Sunday, officials confirmed.

The blaze, sparked by a suspected short circuit, erupted around 3:45 AM at the factory on Akkalkot Road in Solapur’s MIDC, approximately 400 km from Mumbai. Among the deceased were factory owner Haji Usman Hasanbhai Mansuri, three family members, including his young grandson, and four workers.

Firefighters battled the intense flames for five to six hours to bring the fire under control. The cause remains under investigation, with preliminary findings pointing to an electrical fault. Firefighting operations continue at the site as authorities probe the tragic incident.
