Three Pakistani Coast Guards Killed In Arabian Sea Attack By Armed Men
Armed attackers kill three Pakistani coast guards in Arabian Sea incident.
Armed militants have killed three personnel of the Pakistan Coast Guards after opening fire on a patrol boat in the Arabian Sea, in what authorities describe as a rare maritime attack near the Pakistan–Iran border, according to security officials.
The incident occurred during a routine patrol when the Coast Guard vessel was operating in coastal waters close to Gwadar in Balochistan province. Officials said armed men ambushed the boat and carried out heavy firing, killing all three personnel on board before escaping from the area.
Security sources confirmed that the attack targeted a maritime law enforcement vessel of the Pakistan Coast Guards, a paramilitary force responsible for coastal security, anti-smuggling operations, and law enforcement along Pakistan’s shoreline. The boat was reportedly on routine duty at the time of the assault.

No group has been officially confirmed at the time of reporting, although separatist insurgent networks active in Balochistan have frequently carried out attacks on security forces in the region. Authorities have launched an investigation and intensified search operations in surrounding coastal areas following the incident.
The Arabian Sea region, particularly near Gwadar, has witnessed repeated security challenges linked to long-running unrest in Balochistan, where armed groups have targeted infrastructure, security forces, and development projects in recent years. The latest attack marks a significant escalation as it involves a direct strike on a maritime patrol unit.
Security has been heightened across coastal installations, with officials stating that further details will be released as investigations progress. The incident underscores ongoing instability in Pakistan’s southwestern coastal belt and raises concerns over maritime security in strategically sensitive waters.
