At least three people were killed and six others injured after a van collided with a mini-lorry in Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapur district on Tuesday, police officials said. The accident has once again highlighted concerns over road safety on busy highway stretches in the state.
According to preliminary information, the van, which was carrying several passengers, collided head-on with the mini-lorry under circumstances that are still being investigated. The force of the impact was severe, resulting in three fatalities at the scene. The injured victims sustained multiple injuries, with some reported to be in critical condition.
Local residents and commuters were among the first to respond, rushing to assist those trapped in the wreckage and alerting emergency services. Police personnel and ambulance teams arrived shortly after and shifted the injured to a nearby government hospital for immediate medical attention.
