Three Dead, Two Injured in Shooting At In-N-Out Restaurant in Idaho
Police are investigating a deadly shooting that left three people dead and two others injured.
At least three people, including the suspected gunman, were killed and two others were injured in a shooting at a newly opened In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho. Authorities said the threat to the public has been neutralised, while the identity of the suspect and the motive behind the attack remain under investigation. The shooting occurred in broad daylight in the busy commercial area along Blue Lakes Boulevard North, prompting a major emergency response.
According to eyewitness accounts, the suspect, described as a man dressed in black and carrying an AR-style rifle, opened fire near the restaurant's drive-through, targeting vehicles and people in the area. The sudden gunfire triggered panic as customers and employees fled for safety.
Witnesses reported seeing one restaurant employee drag an injured co-worker to safety while emergency responders rushed to the scene. Social media videos also appeared to show an armed bystander returning fire at the suspect, although authorities have not confirmed the civilian's role in the incident.
Emergency medical personnel transported the injured victims to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center for treatment. In response to the incident, the hospital temporarily imposed a no-visitor lockdown while caring for those injured in the shooting. Officials have not released the conditions of the surviving victims or confirmed their identities.

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said the immediate danger to the community had ended following the death of the suspected gunman. He stated that investigators are now focused on formally identifying the suspect, establishing a timeline of events and determining what led to the shooting. Authorities have not disclosed whether the suspect died from police action or other circumstances.
The investigation is being conducted jointly by the Twin Falls Police Department, Idaho State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Investigators continue to examine the crime scene, collect evidence and interview witnesses as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack.
The shooting has drawn significant attention as the restaurant had opened only about a week earlier as part of In-N-Out Burger's expansion into Idaho, leaving the local community shaken by the violence.
