Three Children Die In Pakistan After Rocket Propellant Explosion

Three children in Sindh, Pakistan, died after a rocket propellant they found in fields exploded, police said.

Three young boys aged 8, 10, and 12 were killed instantly on the afternoon of November 24, 2025, when a rocket propellant they mistook for a toy exploded in a field near their village in the riverine katcha area of Kashmore district. The children, all cousins from the same Mazari tribe, had been playing together when the brightly colored object detonated with devastating force, leaving their bodies mutilated and scattering fragments across the site.

Police believe the solid-fuel rocket propellant was abandoned by dacoits who dominate the Indus riverbed belt, an area notorious for bandit hideouts and frequent clashes with security forces. “These gangs often store heavy weapons and explosives in hidden caches; this appears to be one such item left behind during recent operations,” DSP Syed Asghar Ali Shah said. A bomb disposal squad has been rushed to examine the remnants and determine the exact type and origin of the device.

The tragedy has reignited anger and grief in the region, with villagers accusing authorities of failing to clear the katcha of dangerous ordnance after anti-bandit raids. Residents say children frequently stumble upon unexploded shells, rockets, and grenades in fields and riverbanks, turning everyday play into a deadly gamble.

Local leaders have demanded immediate large-scale clearance drives and stricter protocols for destroying seized explosives, warning that without urgent action, more innocent lives will be lost in one of Pakistan’s most lawless frontiers. Investigations continue as the community prepares to bury the three young victims.
