Third Joint Missile Operation Launched by Houthis Targeting Israel
Houthis launch third missile strike on Israel with allied support.
Yemeni Armed Forces, led by the Houthi movement, announced what they described as their “third joint operation” targeting sites in southern Israel, in coordination with allied groups in Iran and Lebanon. The operation, according to the Houthis, involved launching ballistic missiles at “sensitive sites” in what they referred to as the “south of occupied Palestine.”
Yahya Saree, the official spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, posted on X that the mission was carried out in cooperation with “Brother Mujahideen” in Iran and Hezbollah. Saree asserted that the strike was “in support of the resistance fronts” and described the operation as successful. Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported the statement, emphasizing the claim of close coordination between the Yemeni group and its regional allies.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) acknowledged the launch of missiles toward Israeli territory on Wednesday, according to its official Telegram channel. The IDF said that its defensive systems were active to intercept incoming threats, and the Home Front Command issued precautionary alerts to mobile phones in affected areas. No immediate reports of casualties or damage have been confirmed.

This announcement follows a similar escalation earlier in the week. On Sunday, the Houthis reported a “second military operation” against Israel, involving a barrage of cruise missiles and drones targeting what they described as “vital and military sites” in southern Israel. Saree said the operation was part of a “Holy Jihad Battle” and coincided with military actions by allied forces in Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon. The group claimed the mission successfully achieved its objectives.
The recent operations mark Yemen’s Houthi movement’s formal entry into the ongoing regional conflict. Analysts note that the Houthis’ growing missile and drone capabilities, coupled with their coordination with Iranian-backed groups, could further complicate security dynamics in the region. Israeli officials have previously emphasized that Iran-linked launches from Yemen are being closely monitored to prevent escalation.
While the Houthis continue to frame these strikes as part of a broader resistance campaign, international observers remain cautious, noting the potential for further escalation in an already volatile part of West Asia. The situation highlights the complex web of regional alliances and proxy engagements shaping the ongoing conflict.
