Singapore PM's 3 Day India Visit to Begin Today
Leader to meet Indian officials, celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations
Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will embark on a three-day official visit to India starting Tuesday, signalling a strong push to deepen ties between the two nations, according to a statement from his office.
Invited by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Wong’s visit marks the 60th anniversary of Singapore-India diplomatic relations and Singapore’s 60th year of independence. The trip underscores both countries’ commitment to strengthening their partnership.
In New Delhi, Wong will meet President Droupadi Murmu and hold discussions with PM Modi, who will host a banquet lunch in his honour. The Singaporean leader, also the city-state’s finance minister, will engage with key Indian figures, including Health Minister J. P. Nadda, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

Wong will pay respects at Rajghat, honouring Mahatma Gandhi, and connect with Singaporeans in India at a reception celebrating the milestone anniversary. Additionally, he will join a closed-door roundtable with Indian business leaders to explore new avenues for collaboration.
