Man Kills Father and Brother in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur Over Wheat Harvest Dispute
A tragic incident unfolded in Juda Patti village, Kurebhar area of Sultanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday evening, where a man allegedly shot dead his father and brother following a heated dispute over the division of wheat harvest.
The victims, identified as Satyaprakash Yadav, 47, an aide to a village head, and his 75-year-old father, Kanshiram Yadav, were killed by Ajay Yadav, Satyaprakash’s younger brother, according to police reports.
The conflict reportedly erupted when Ajay Yadav’s wife demanded a share of the wheat harvested from the family’s farm but was refused by the victims.

Enraged by the rejection, Ajay allegedly opened fire, first targeting his brother outside the house before entering and shooting his father. Both victims were rushed to the Community Health Centre in Kurebhar and later referred to the Government Medical College, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.
Kurebhar Station House Officer Ravindra Singh confirmed that an FIR has been registered based on a complaint filed by Kanshiram Yadav’s daughter. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and legal proceedings are ongoing. Preliminary investigations point to longstanding family tensions over agricultural resources as the root cause of the violence.
The incident has shocked the local community, highlighting the devastating consequences of unresolved familial disputes over shared assets in rural India. Authorities are continuing their probe to ensure justice is served.
