Shocking Thane Crime: Man Gets 10 Years for Raping Teen Sister!
Thane man sentenced to 10 years for raping his 15-year-old sister.
In a chilling verdict, a Kalyan court in Thane district sentenced a 32-year-old man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for repeatedly raping and threatening his 15-year-old sister in 2015. The horrific case, which has stunned the community, saw Additional Sessions Judge P R Ashturkar deliver the ruling on July 2, with the order made public on Friday.
The man, a labourer from Dombivli, was convicted under sections 376(2) (rape) and 506(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. He was also fined ₹5,000, which the court ordered to be paid to the victim as compensation. Special Public Prosecutor Kadambini Khandagale revealed that the accused assaulted his minor sister, who lived with him and another brother in a rented home, on two separate occasions in August and September 2015.
The brave victim, after enduring the second assault, confided in a friend whose parents urged her to report the crime, leading to an FIR filed on September 22, 2015. Judge Ashturkar dismissed the defense’s claim that the girl fabricated the allegations, citing medical evidence and her testimony as undeniable proof of the assault. “She, being a younger sister, was vulnerable and traumatized,” the judge noted, emphasizing the betrayal by her own brother and the absence of any motive for false accusations.
