Shocking Heist at Singapore Airport: Indian Man Nabbed for Stealing $3.5 Lakh in Luxury Goods!
Indian Man Caught Stealing $3.5 Lakh in Luxury Goods at Singapore Airport!
In a brazen act of theft, a 38-year-old Indian national was arrested at Singapore’s Changi Airport on June 1, caught red-handed with stolen goods worth a staggering SGD 5,500 (INR 3.5 lakh). The man, whose identity remains undisclosed, was nabbed while in transit, thanks to sharp-eyed CCTV footage that captured him swiping high-end bags and makeup from a shop in the airport’s bustling terminal.
Authorities revealed that the thief had previously fled Singapore after the heist, thinking he’d outsmarted the law. However, his return to Changi proved to be his downfall. Police recovered the stolen luxury items in his possession, and he now faces charges of theft and fraudulent possession of property, with a court appearance scheduled for July 25, 2025.
“Think you can steal and escape on the next flight? Think again,” Singapore police warned, emphasizing their relentless pursuit of justice. “We work closely with airport authorities to ensure offenders face the consequences, no matter where they try to hide.”

This isn’t the first time Changi Airport has been targeted. Earlier this year, another Indian national, 37-year-old Singh Sagar, made headlines for a three-hour crime spree across five stores in Terminal 3. On March 23, Sagar allegedly pilfered over SGD 1,800 (INR 1.14 lakh) worth of goods, including stationery, chocolates, jewelry, t-shirts, watches, and even a handbag. His haul included SGD 550 (INR 35,032) from WH Smith bookstore alone, alongside items from The Cocoa Trees, Discover Singapore, Kaboom, and Victoria’s Secret.
Singapore’s Changi Airport, known for its world-class security, remains vigilant. These back-to-back incidents serve as a stark reminder: no one slips through the cracks in one of the world’s busiest travel hubs.
