Saudi Arabia Reports Drone Attacks By Iraqi Militia, Promises Retaliation

Saudi Arabia’s Defence Ministry has said that its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed drones launched from Iraq, alleging that the unmanned aerial vehicles were aimed at oil facilities in the eastern region of the kingdom. The ministry described the incident as an attack attempt by armed groups operating from Iraqi territory.

According to a statement cited by Al Jazeera, the drones were launched by armed organisations in Iraq that Saudi authorities claim have links to Iran. The ministry did not provide further details about the number of drones involved, the exact locations targeted, or the extent of any damage caused.
