Rahul Gandhi Predicts PM Modi, Shah’s Political Decline During Fiery Congress Meeting Address

Rahul Gandhi Predicts PM Modi, Shah Political Decline.

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah during a Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Wednesday, telling party leaders that the two senior BJP leaders were "finished". His remarks came as the Congress leadership discussed the party's political strategy, organisational unity and its approach towards younger voters. According to sources, Rahul Gandhi told the meeting that unity remained one of the Congress's biggest political strengths and urged leaders to stay together while firmly adhering to the party's ideology. He stressed that the Congress could benefit from maintaining cohesion at a time when political developments in several states were reshaping the electoral landscape.

Rahul Gandhi also referred to developments involving the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal while making his case for maintaining unity within the Congress. He asked party leaders to consider what had happened to Mamata Banerjee's party and how internal divisions had affected it. According to sources, he argued that the Congress had an advantage because its organisation, unity and ideological foundation remained intact. The Congress leader also placed particular emphasis on young people, describing the youth as the party's strength and power. He told the meeting that the Congress needed to focus on protecting their interests and ensuring that young voters remained central to its political agenda. His comments come as political parties increasingly seek to engage a younger electorate through employment, education and economic issues.

Rahul Gandhi's remarks about Modi and Shah were among the more pointed political messages delivered at the meeting. The Congress has continued to position itself as the principal opposition to the BJP at the national level, with Rahul Gandhi frequently targeting the government's policies and the leadership of the ruling party. His latest comments indicate that the Congress intends to maintain an aggressive political line while also focusing on strengthening its organisation. The CWC meeting also discussed issues concerning the party's ideological position and adopted a resolution on Vande Mataram. The resolution stated that the Congress would follow the decision taken in 1937 regarding the singing of the national song, under which only its first two stanzas would be sung.

The resolution comes amid continuing political debate over the national song and its historical and cultural significance. By reaffirming the earlier Congress position, the party sought to underline its interpretation of the song's place in official and public functions. The discussions at the CWC meeting therefore combined political messaging with organisational concerns and questions of ideology. Rahul Gandhi's emphasis on unity was particularly significant as the Congress seeks to strengthen its presence across states and consolidate support among younger voters.

The reference to West Bengal also reflected the Congress leadership's broader effort to draw lessons from developments involving other opposition parties. Rahul Gandhi's argument, as described by sources, was that maintaining internal cohesion could help the Congress avoid the organisational challenges experienced elsewhere. With Rahul Gandhi urging unity and highlighting the importance of young voters, the meeting focused on strengthening the party's political foundation. His attack on Modi and Shah added a combative edge to the proceedings, signalling that the Congress leadership intends to continue challenging the BJP while seeking to consolidate its own organisational and ideological base.
