Punjab CM Mann Stable in Mohali Hospital, confirms Sisodia
AAP leader checks on Mann’s health in Mohali.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia visited Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann at Fortis Hospital in Mohali on Saturday, expressing relief over the CM’s improving health after a sudden hospitalization. Mann, 51, was admitted to the intensive care unit on Friday evening following complaints of exhaustion and a critically low heart rate, raising concerns among supporters and party members.
Sisodia, AAP’s Punjab in-charge, addressed reporters after meeting Mann, stating, “The Chief Minister was unwell for the past two to three days due to an electrolyte imbalance. Initially, he was receiving treatment at home, but yesterday his pulse rate dropped significantly to 44, prompting urgent hospitalization.” He reassured the public that Mann’s condition is now stable, with his pulse normalized and overall health improving. “Doctors have advised he remain under observation for one or two more days, but there’s nothing to worry about,” Sisodia added.
The visit comes amidst a challenging time for Punjab, with Mann actively concerned about the state’s ongoing flood crisis despite his hospitalization. Sisodia noted, “Even from his hospital bed, the Chief Minister was discussing the flood situation and plans to hold meetings with officials to ensure relief for affected residents.” Mann’s illness forced the postponement of a crucial cabinet meeting scheduled for Friday and prevented him from joining AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on a visit to flood-hit areas on Thursday.

Mann’s mother and Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora also visited the hospital, offering support during this health scare. Fortis Hospital confirmed that Mann’s vitals are stable, and he is expected to be discharged soon. However, the incident sparked political controversy, with Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira questioning why Mann was not admitted to an Aam Aadmi Clinic, which the AAP government promotes as offering world-class facilities.
The hospitalization has highlighted Mann’s dedication to public service, as he continues to prioritize Punjab’s welfare even while under medical care. As clearing operations for flood-affected areas continue, Mann’s swift recovery is crucial for the state’s leadership during this crisis. The AAP has assured the public that the government remains fully operational, with senior officials stepping in to manage day-to-day affairs until Mann resumes his duties.
