President Trump Hosts Tech Titans at White House Dinner, Snubs Elon Musk

President Donald Trump is rolling out the red carpet for a who’s-who of tech titans at a glitzy White House dinner on Thursday night, but one big name is missing: Elon Musk. The guest list reads like a tech hall of fame, featuring Microsoft’s Bill Gates, Apple’s Tim Cook, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, and a slew of other heavyweights from AI and tech giants, according to White House sources.

Musk, once a Trump confidant tasked with leading the Department of Government Efficiency, was notably excluded following a public falling-out earlier this year. The dinner, set to take place in the revamped Rose Garden—now a Mar-a-Lago-inspired patio with tables, chairs, and umbrellas—promises to be a hotspot for power networking. “The Rose Garden Club is the place to be,” gushed White House spokesman Davis Ingle. “The president can’t wait to host this elite crowd and many more on our stunning new patio.”

The event follows a meeting of the White House’s Artificial Intelligence Education task force, chaired by First Lady Melania Trump, with some dinner guests expected to join the discussion on AI education for America’s youth. Other confirmed attendees include Google’s Sergey Brin and Sundar Pichai, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, OpenAI’s Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, Oracle’s Safra Catz, Blue Origin’s David Limp, Micron’s Sanjay Mehrotra, TIBCO’s Vivek Ranadive, Palantir’s Shyam Sankar, Scale AI’s Alexandr Wang, and Shift4’s Jared Isaacman.

Isaacman, a former Musk associate, was briefly tapped to lead NASA before Trump rescinded the nomination amid his rift with Musk. Trump later claimed Isaacman was “totally a Democrat”, further fuelling the drama.
