PM Unveils Armed Forces Vision 2047 At Kolkata Commanders’ Conference
PM Modi praises Operation Sindoor and launches a future roadmap at the Combined Commanders’ Conference.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday praised the Indian Armed Forces for their exemplary execution of Operation Sindoor, a targeted tri-services campaign to dismantle terror infrastructure across the Line of Control and deeper into Pakistan. Speaking at the inauguration of the Combined Commanders' Conference (CCC) at the Eastern Command headquarters in Vijay Durg, Kolkata, Modi emphasised the forces' critical role in nation-building. He also unveiled the “Indian Armed Forces Vision 2047” document, outlining a roadmap for a future-ready military.
The three-day biennial conference, attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, and the three service chiefs, focuses on strategic priorities like force modernisation, jointness, and multi-domain warfare readiness. The 16th edition of the CCC, themed “Year of Reforms—Transforming for the Future,” underscores the armed forces’ commitment to institutional reforms and technological advancements while maintaining operational preparedness.
Operation Sindoor, the first major operation discussed at the conference, showcased the military’s precision and professionalism. The conference serves as a platform for top civil and military leaders to discuss strategic and operational priorities, with interactive sessions involving officers of various ranks. This year’s deliberations aim to enhance integration and address evolving security challenges.
