PM Modi Speaks To Saudi Crown Prince, Bahrain King, Urges Early Regional Peace Restoration

PM Modi condemns Saudi, Bahrain attacks, urges regional peace and stability.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held separate telephone conversations with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Bin Salman, and the King of Bahrain, Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, condemning recent attacks on both countries. The discussions emphasized the urgent need for restoring regional peace and protecting civilians, including the Indian expatriate community.

In his call with the Saudi leader, Modi highlighted India’s strong condemnation of attacks on Saudi Arabia that violated the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The prime minister underscored the importance of quickly returning to stability in the region and expressed gratitude for the leadership’s attention to the well-being of Indian nationals living in the kingdom.

Modi echoed similar sentiments during his conversation with the King of Bahrain, affirming India’s solidarity with Bahrain and condemning the attacks on its territory. He thanked the Bahraini leadership for supporting the Indian community during the ongoing crisis and stressed the importance of safeguarding civilian lives amid escalating tensions in West Asia.

The telephonic conversations come in the wake of intensified regional hostilities following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, which resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran retaliated with a series of missile attacks targeting Israel and several other countries in the region, including Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, heightening concerns over broader escalation.

Prime Minister Modi has also previously spoken to Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, underscoring India’s proactive diplomatic engagement across the Middle East. These calls reflect India’s emphasis on regional stability and the protection of its citizens amid unfolding security threats.

India continues to monitor developments closely and has urged all parties to exercise restraint. Modi’s outreach to regional leaders highlights New Delhi’s commitment to supporting peace, security, and the welfare of Indian expatriates in West Asia during a period of heightened tension.
