PM Modi held bilateral talks with Nordic leaders in Oslo focusing on trade, renewable energy and strategic cooperation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held a series of bilateral discussions with the prime ministers of Iceland, Finland and Denmark in Oslo, focusing on strengthening cooperation in trade, renewable energy and broader economic engagement ahead of the 3rd India-Nordic Summit.

During the meetings, PM Modi interacted separately with Iceland Prime Minister Kristrun Frostadottir, Finland Prime Minister Petteri Orpo and Denmark Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. The leaders reviewed the overall trajectory of India’s relations with their respective countries and exchanged views on expanding collaboration in key sectors of mutual interest.

The discussions took place ahead of the India-Nordic Summit scheduled later in the day in Oslo, which brings together India and the five Nordic nations — Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. The summit builds on earlier editions held in Stockholm in 2018 and Copenhagen in 2022, and is expected to further deepen cooperation in areas such as technology, innovation, green transition, renewable energy, sustainability, the blue economy, defence, space and Arctic affairs.
