PM Modi Engages Arunachal Entrepreneurs on GST Reforms and Local Products

PM Modi discusses GST impact and promotes 'Vocal for Local' with Arunachal businesses.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with local entrepreneurs and self-help group members in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, on Monday, focusing on the impact of recent Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms. The interaction took place during a visit to an exhibition at Indira Gandhi Park, where he was addressing a public gathering, officials said.

Modi discussed how the newly implemented GST reforms, effective from September 22, benefit traders by simplifying the tax structure and reducing rates on 375 items, including essentials, electronics, and automobiles. The reforms, announced as part of the 'GST Bachat Utsav,' aim to lower household expenses and support small businesses, aligning with the government’s vision of ease of living and doing business.

The Prime Minister also explored locally made products displayed at the exhibition, emphasizing the 'Vocal for Local' campaign to promote indigenous goods. He inquired about the artisans’ and entrepreneurs’ experiences, encouraging them to leverage the reforms to boost their businesses. An official noted that the interaction underscored the government’s commitment to fostering grassroots entrepreneurship in Arunachal Pradesh, a frontier state with growing economic potential.
