PM Modi Discusses Indian Community Safety In Oman, Kuwait Amid Middle East Tensions
PM Modi discusses Indian safety and expresses concern over attacks with Oman and Kuwait leaders.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held separate telephonic conversations with Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah of Kuwait, expressing concern over recent attacks in their countries amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. Officials said Modi also discussed the welfare and security of the Indian community residing in both nations during the calls.
An official statement noted that the prime minister spoke to “two important leaders from the Gulf region” on Tuesday afternoon, emphasizing India’s focus on maintaining close communication with countries affected by the ongoing conflict. The discussions were part of India’s broader diplomatic engagement as the situation in the Gulf region unfolds.
The calls followed a coordinated offensive against Iran by the United States and Israel, during which Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was reportedly killed. In retaliation, Iran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting US and Israeli installations in the Gulf, as well as key business and aviation hubs, including Dubai and Doha.

In addition, Modi has held conversations with King Abdullah II of Jordan, UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, reflecting India’s active diplomatic outreach as the crisis continues.
Through these engagements, the Indian government is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with its diplomatic missions to ensure the safety and security of Indian nationals in the region, while advocating for stability and peaceful resolution of hostilities.
