The city recently made headlines by hosting Coldplay’s massive Music Of The Spheres tour concerts on January 25 and 26, 2025, at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The event drew an unprecedented 2.5 lakh attendees, with 1.3 lakh tickets sold, setting a new benchmark for large-scale concerts in India. Music enthusiasts from across India and abroad flocked to Ahmedabad, showcasing the city’s ability to host world-class events. The seamless collaboration between the Gujarat government, local authorities, and concert organizers ensured the event’s resounding success, earning praise from citizens and leaders alike.
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw took to X to celebrate the milestone, posting a video from the concert and stating, “Setting global benchmark! The biggest ever Coldplay concert at Narendra Modi Stadium, with over 1.3 lakh attendees, showcased India’s capability to host world-class events.”

PM Modi reflected on Ahmedabad’s remarkable journey, noting that the city has evolved from a region once plagued by frequent curfews and unrest to one of the safest cities in India today.
