PM Modi Condemns Attacks On UAE During Talks With Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed
PM Modi condemned attacks on UAE and praised support for Indians during Gulf tensions.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday strongly condemned the recent drone and missile attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates during the ongoing US-Iran conflict, calling the strikes “unacceptable” and reaffirming India’s support for the Gulf nation amid rising regional instability. The remarks were made during delegation-level talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi.
According to reports, Modi said India “strongly condemns the attacks launched on the UAE” and praised the Emirati leadership for maintaining national unity and ensuring the safety of residents during the crisis. He also expressed gratitude for the care extended to the large Indian diaspora living in the UAE, especially during recent periods of heightened tension and security threats in the Gulf region.
The Prime Minister’s visit comes against the backdrop of escalating hostilities involving Iran, the United States, and regional allies, which have intensified concerns over maritime security, energy infrastructure, and civilian safety across West Asia. The UAE has faced multiple drone and missile threats in recent months, including attacks near Fujairah and other strategic locations linked to energy and logistics infrastructure. Several incidents reportedly injured civilians, including Indian nationals working in the Emirates.

During the visit, India and the UAE signed a series of agreements aimed at strengthening defence cooperation, energy security, and strategic investments. The new partnerships include collaboration in defence industries, military training, cyber security, petroleum reserves, and liquefied natural gas supply arrangements. Analysts say the agreements reflect growing strategic alignment between New Delhi and Abu Dhabi amid shifting geopolitical dynamics in the Gulf region.
Modi’s arrival in the UAE also received high-level ceremonial recognition, with Emirati Air Force F-16 fighter jets escorting his aircraft into the country’s airspace. The gesture underscored the close diplomatic ties between the two nations, which have significantly expanded cooperation in trade, energy, defence, and infrastructure over the past decade. The UAE remains one of India’s key strategic and economic partners in the Middle East and hosts millions of Indian expatriates.
The Prime Minister’s statement adds to mounting international concern over the widening regional fallout of the US-Iran conflict, particularly the risks posed to global energy routes and civilian infrastructure. As tensions continue to affect Gulf stability and shipping activity around the Strait of Hormuz, countries including India are closely monitoring developments due to their dependence on the region for energy supplies and trade connectivity.
