Pasco Plane Crash: Two Dead, Chilling Photos And Videos Reveal Devastating Wreckage Scene

Two killed in Pasco plane crash, investigation underway.

Two people were killed on June 24 after a floatplane crashed into the Columbia River near Clover Island in Kennewick, Washington, following a collision with a power line spanning the waterway. The impact caused both the aircraft and an energized cable to fall into the river, triggering a large-scale emergency response across multiple agencies.

According to initial reports, the floatplane struck the overhead power line while operating over the Columbia River before crashing into the water. The aircraft subsequently flipped upside down and began drifting downstream, complicating immediate rescue and recovery efforts in the fast-moving river conditions.

Pasco Fire crews were among the first responders on the scene and used a boat to secure the overturned aircraft, preventing it from continuing to drift further downstream. Authorities said the coordinated response was critical in stabilising the situation and ensuring the safety of emergency personnel working in hazardous conditions involving water and potential electrical risks.

A multi-agency operation was launched shortly after the crash, involving the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Columbia Basin Dive Rescue teams, and the U.S. Coast Guard. These agencies worked together to manage water-based rescue and recovery efforts, while ensuring the area remained secured for investigation and public safety.

Onshore, Pasco Police officers cordoned off the surrounding area and handled documentation of the crash site. The Washington State Patrol also assisted in coordinating the broader response. In an advisory issued after the incident, Pasco Police urged residents to avoid the area and warned of possible disruptions, including damaged infrastructure, noting that any non-functional traffic signals should be treated as four-way stops.

Authorities have confirmed that two fatalities resulted from the crash, though further details regarding the victims have not yet been released. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the collision, including how the aircraft came into contact with the power line and whether operational or environmental factors played a role in the accident.
