Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and son Salil captivate UN Geneva with soulful Indian classical music.

Jaipur’s Grammy-winning maestro Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, alongside his son, Satvik Veena creator Pandit Salil Bhatt, captivated audiences at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva on July 8. The mesmerizing concert, titled Golden Notes of Mohan Veena and Satvik Veena, celebrated the 50th anniversary of collaboration between the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and India, organized with support from the Indian Embassy in Geneva and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.

The father-son duo, hailing from Jaipur, transformed the venue into a sanctuary of peace, weaving soulful Indian classical music to promote global harmony. Their performance drew diplomats, ministers, and cultural luminaries from over 190 countries, who were spellbound by the emotive interplay of the Mohan Veena and Satvik Veena.

Adding depth to the evening, tabla virtuoso Pandit Himanshu Mahant provided rhythmic brilliance, while Kutla Khan Manganiyar infused vibrant Rajasthani folk melodies, creating a unique fusion of Indian classical, folk, and world music traditions. The event was a testament to India’s rich cultural heritage, resonating deeply with the global audience.
