Pakistan Bus Overturns In Balochistan, Two Killed And 42 Injured
Two people died and 42 were injured in Balochistan.
At least two people were killed and 42 others injured after a bus carrying a wedding party overturned on the Kohlu-Dera Ghazi Khan highway in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Friday, according to local media reports. The bus was travelling from Rakhni to Kohlu when the accident occurred, with police attributing the incident to overloading.
According to police officials, more than 40 passengers suffered injuries when the bus overturned. Police and rescue teams reached the accident site soon after the incident and transported the injured to a hospital in Kohlu for treatment. A woman and a child later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
The accident has added to concerns over road safety and passenger transport in Pakistan, where overcrowding, vehicle faults and difficult road conditions have frequently been linked to serious crashes. Authorities and rescue agencies have repeatedly responded to accidents involving buses, coaches and passenger vans across different provinces.

In another major accident reported on May 25, at least 16 people were killed and seven others injured after a passenger coach travelling towards Swat collided with a bus parked along the roadside in the Khoro Kotay Saeedabad area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Police reported that the coach had encountered a mechanical problem before colliding with the stationary vehicle.
Earlier, on May 10, five people were killed and 10 others injured after a passenger van fell into a ravine in Swat’s Charbagh tehsil. Rescue officials reported that the victims were from the same family and were travelling to attend a wedding ceremony when the vehicle crashed, apparently following brake failure.
Road accidents have continued to claim lives across Pakistan in recent months. On April 6, nine people were injured after a passenger van lost control and crashed in Peshawar, while another bus accident near Nankana in Punjab during the same week left three people dead and 26 injured. The latest Balochistan crash has once again brought attention to the need for safer passenger transport and stricter compliance with road safety measures.
