Nitin Nabin Puts Poll Strategy, Grassroots Outreach At Heart Of New BJP Team
Nabin's BJP team focuses on polls.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin on Saturday chaired his first meeting with the party's newly appointed national office-bearers at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, with discussions centred on preparations for upcoming state assembly elections, grassroots mobilisation and communicating government initiatives to the public. Party sources said the meeting marked an early organisational exercise under Nabin's leadership as the BJP prepares for future electoral contests. According to party sources, the meeting focused on strengthening the BJP's presence at the grassroots level and developing strategies for the upcoming state polls.
Leaders discussed ways to mobilise the party organisation and improve communication with voters about government initiatives. The emphasis on grassroots outreach comes as the BJP seeks to strengthen coordination between its national leadership and its organisational network across states. More meetings are scheduled later on Saturday, with BJP state presidents, state in-charges and chief ministers of BJP-ruled states expected to participate, the sources said. The meetings are expected to provide a broader platform for discussions on state-level political priorities, organisational preparedness and the implementation of the party's electoral strategy.
The participation of state leaders will also allow the central leadership to assess preparations across different regions. BJP announced its new national team under Nabin earlier this week. The organisation comprises 65 office-bearers, including 51 new faces, representing a significant reshuffle of the party's national leadership structure. The appointments come as Nabin begins his tenure as BJP president and works to establish his organisational team while preparing the party for upcoming political challenges.

The new team includes 13 national vice presidents, among them former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia and former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh functionary Ram Madhav. Former Union minister Smriti Irani has also been appointed as one of the BJP's eight national general secretaries. The appointments bring several experienced political and organisational figures into key positions within the party's national structure.
Nabin's first meeting with the new office-bearers is expected to set the tone for the BJP's organisational priorities under his leadership. With elections in several states approaching, the party leadership is focusing on strengthening its grassroots network, coordinating with state units and ensuring that government initiatives are effectively communicated to voters. Further meetings with state leaders later on Saturday are expected to expand these discussions and align the national and state-level organisational machinery.
