Netanyahu Says World Delegitimises Israel, Highlights India’s Strong Support
Netanyahu praises India, criticises global stance on Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday said that India is a “huge power” that shares what he described as “absolutely crazy love” for Israel, even as he claimed that efforts are underway in parts of the world to delegitimise the country. His remarks were made during a public engagement where he spoke about Israel’s global diplomatic outreach.
Speaking at a leadership programme in the Jordan Valley, Netanyahu said Israel was working to expand its international alliances, highlighting India as a central partner in its foreign policy. He contrasted India’s position with what he described as criticism and delegitimisation faced by Israel in other regions, while emphasising the strength of bilateral engagement between the two countries.
Netanyahu underscored the growing scope of cooperation between Israel and India, pointing to partnerships across defence, agriculture, water management, healthcare, cybersecurity, entrepreneurship and emerging technologies. He said the relationship reflects complementary strengths, with Israel contributing technological innovation and India offering scale, talent and manufacturing capability.

The Israeli leader also referred to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and highlighted recent high-level exchanges between the two countries. He cited Modi’s state visit to Israel in February as part of continued efforts to deepen the strategic partnership and strengthen collaboration across multiple sectors.
India and Israel maintain a structured strategic relationship that has expanded significantly over the past decade, with regular political exchanges and growing economic ties. Netanyahu has previously described India as a major global power and a key partner in innovation-driven cooperation, while both governments have reiterated their shared interest in expanding technological and security collaboration alongside broader development initiatives.
