N Chandrasekaran Gets UK Knighthood for India-UK Business Ties

Tata Group Chairman N. Chandrasekaran was conferred with an honorary Knighthood by the British government, recognizing his pivotal role in strengthening UK-India business relations. The prestigious award, the Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE), was presented by British High Commissioner to India Lindy Cameron on behalf of His Majesty King Charles.
The ceremony took place recently, with the Tata Group confirming the honor on social media. This accolade highlights Chandrasekaran's leadership in expanding Tata's footprint in the UK, where the conglomerate employs over 70,000 people across sectors like steel, automotive, and IT services.
Chandrasekaran, who has helmed Tata Sons since 2017 as the first non-family chairman, oversees more than 100 operating companies with combined revenues exceeding $100 billion annually. His tenure has seen strategic investments in Britain, including Tata Steel's operations and Jaguar Land Rover, bolstering economic ties between the two nations. The KBE specifically acknowledges his contributions to fostering bilateral growth and global business collaboration.
