Missile Attack From Iran Kills Six In Beit Shemesh, Injures 23, Israeli Authorities Confirm
Six dead, 23 injured in Beit Shemesh missile attack by Iran amid Israel-Iran tensions.
At least six people were killed and 23 others injured on Sunday in a missile strike on the central Israeli city of Beit Shemesh, officials said. The attack, launched from Iran, was reported to be in retaliation for the recent killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
A spokesperson for Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national emergency service, confirmed that paramedics pronounced six fatalities at the scene, while police reported that a building in the area suffered a direct hit. “In the Beit Shemesh area, MDA EMTs and paramedics have pronounced the deaths of six casualties,” said Zaki Heller, providing an updated toll from earlier reports that indicated four deaths.
The strike raises the total death count in Israel from the latest confrontation with Iran to seven, highlighting the intensifying cycle of retaliation between the two nations. Authorities are assessing the full scale of damage and continuing rescue operations for those trapped or injured in the attack.

Israeli emergency services mobilized quickly to respond, with medical teams treating the injured and securing the affected areas. Local hospitals have been placed on high alert, and police have urged residents to follow safety protocols as further missile activity remains possible.
The missile strike marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict triggered by the U.S.-Israel operation against Iranian military and nuclear facilities, which led to the death of Khamenei earlier this week. Analysts warn that such retaliatory attacks could further destabilize the region and endanger civilians on both sides.
Officials in Israel have called for calm but emphasized the need for heightened security across central and southern regions. The international community is closely monitoring developments, with concerns growing over a broader confrontation in the Middle East.
